For My Cousin
The earth has never covered such a one
Never have the high walls and towers Winchester,
Nor Albions broad green fields,
Enfolded such a man as my Cousin.
There is none gentler, none so pure,
None who has drained deaths cup so bravely,
Nor have the shadowed spirits ever welcomed,
Or the rich earth covered one so rare as he.
