Faction News
Faction Monstering
Ladies and Gents, the Moot is almost upon us... hurrah!
Following the success of last years early monstering, our monster slot for Moot one is 2000 - 2200 FRIDAY, and thats the only faction monster slot of the weekend.
Like last time we did it, we're going to go down en masse from about 1945, standard monstering kit / weapons / etc.
As we all know, Monstering is, like, the lifeblood of the game, and the other factions will all be doing there bit for us through the weekend, as well as being top fun - and we get to do ours first, when no one is expecting it...
So join us in a bit of monstering, earn money or OSPs by the bucketload, and we'll look like the stars of the field... as we always do
Cheers,
Neil

Website Updates
Apologies from the Webteam for the amount of time the website has been down. We will try to keep it up to date with content, however if you would like to help out by contributing, or updating then it would be most appreciated. Please mail on webadmin@hartsofalbion.co.uk if you want to help out or contribute regularly.
Just giving brief reports of events for the front page or the campaign section would be a massive help infact.
We will try to update as much as possible, although some of it will take input from command, so please bear with us whilst we get the information. Thanks for your patience.

Message about the Fayre
After a fabulous opening Moot we are looking forward to a good year with the Harts. Many thanks to all of you.
As to the Fayre:
The Jugga kit has been cleaned and ironed, the pom poms have been dusted and the ladies have come up with their own kit which I'm reliably informed will thrill some :)
So come one and all, bring your red and white and your voices to support our teams!
For more details of what's on at the games please follow the link below.
http://www.hartsofalbion.co.uk/external_docs/guidetogef1109.pdf
Friday nights at big events have a tendency to be quite slow so this year we are going to go and monster to give the event a bit of a kick start. Then back to camp for a big entrance and a party. Lets show the Heartlands how it's done!
It also gives those of the faction who have to come after work, time to get there and sorted and still feel they haven't missed something - not to mention giving our plot peeps a bit of time off so they are ready and able to smack us upside the head in the morning.
Might I also draw your attention to our forthcoming event "Serenity" 19-21 June, Giants Seat, Manchester
Worrying about a huge summer with no larping?
Need an excuse to avoid summer chores like (gulp) gardening?
Have no fear! Harts of Albion proudly present 'Serenity', an event set in darkest Cornwall (but held in Giants Seat in Manchester)
With the long days, there'll be less chance for monsters to jump you in the dark - Come along and give creatures of foulest evil a bashing in the name of the King, ancestors, and a nice brew.
Or, with the long days, there'll be less dark for the players to skulk in! Come along and show the Harts a thing or two about real nastiness... crewing's free, and the lucky first few will even get a bunk!

Tents for the 2009 Season
Hi all
Hope we are all ready for the new season.
If you would like to have a tent with in the IC area we need to know what tent your bringing and what sort of dimensions it has, so we can arrange the tent with the correct fire breaks and ambulance runs.
Please can you email us at harts_command@ yahoogroups. com with the Email subject of tent (we get a lot of spam on this account so the title will mean we don't deleted it by accident).
Please does this as soon as possible as we will need some time to work out the ground plan. If you would like to tell us the events you are planning to attend we can book your IC tent in for the year.
If you do not mail us you will not be able to put your tent up in the IC area.
We have some rather fantastic events lined up for the coming year, and ending the 09 season with what is becoming our traditional Bugman Bar one nighter.
So hears to a fantastic year for us all
Cheers

Change in Command Team
It is with regret that we say goodbye to Jason Boyle who has served the
Faction for the last 3 years as Harts Logistics Rep. Jason has made the
decision to step down from his position on the Command Team.
We're happy to say he won't be leaving the faction and look forward to
victimising him in new and unusual ways in the future.

Change in Command Team
Well I would like to announce that I am stepping down as an NPC for
the Harts. I have been a NPC for the last 3 seasons and it has been a
pleasure to be in such a faction as the Harts. I would like to thank
the team, Anna, Kev and Shaun for their support over the years and
also to all the players in the Harts who have helped me during my
time on command. You will not be getting rid of me though as I intend
to stay within the faction and still come to events.
I would ask that players give full support to the next NPC and to
give continuing support to the existing team, they do a lot of work
behind the scenes.
So tata for now and see you in a field somewhere soon.
Have fun and remember be safe and water water water.

Hi one and all
We have once again booked Bugmans bar for a one nighter event at the
end of November ( 29th)
However rather than us as a command team hosting it IC we thought we
would opening out to you guys.
So would you like to host the Harts Xmas party???
If so, what we would like from you is to drop us a line saying that
you would like to host, where IC you will be holding it, bit of
background on you/your group, and a reason for the party if you have
one.
Once we have people's offers we will go through and then pick someone.
The lucky "winner" ;-) will then be involved in some of the event
running, but don't worry we will do most of the work :-)
So what do you think?
You fancy it?

Moot 2 Update
As of Wednesday 27th June Moot 2 is going ahead as planned. There have been severe weather warnings issued for Saturday AND Sunday but at this time the ground is slowly drying off after the flooding and work has begun on set up.
There are no cars allowed on the fields but the LT are running a quadbike service to take equipment from the car park to the faction camps.
Since Kev and Jason are already there, if you need to contact someone please phone or email Anna. We will endeavour to keep you updated about the situation as much as we can.
We hope that we will see you all there for a stonking moot with tea and cake aplenty, some politics and a bash or two, to show Erdreja just what the Harts are about with many a cry of ALBION FOREVER!

Thanks From The Fayre
The Harts NPC Team would like to thank everyone for their hard work
and help in making the Great Fayre something to remember. We hope
that you had a good time at the games and the LT would appreciate
your input in making next year's Fayre even more memorable - feedback can be sent to enquiries@lorientrust.com for those of you who wish to have your voice
heard.
Looking forward to the rest of the season, we would like to make the
Moots, in particular our moot in Milford (the second one), something to write home
about, showing the other factions what it means to be a Hart and
giving everyone on that field in Derby a damn good time. Any
assistance you feel you can give in this area, be it dressing your
tent for the festivities, baking a cake for the Queen Elspeth
Memorial Cake Competition, making banners, shields, tabards or tea,
would be greatly appreciated, please let yourself and your ideas be
known to Anna or Jane.
If anyone has any Group or Character backgrounds, mission reports,
articles or information they wish to add to the website please
forward to Gareth. The website is a wonderful source of information
and adds to the flavour of our faction. In most cases it is the
first point of contact with outside groups and it would be nice to
give them a detailed overview of who and what we are.
Lastly and most importantly we would like to thank Dave Young for
all the hard work he put in to the faction during his time with us.
Sadly we have lost him to LT staff but please know that though you
are not with us anymore we really appreciate what you did to make us
the faction we are. Thank you Dave, you're a star.

A Word From Harts Command
Well, the first big event of the season is only a few days to go and everyone seems to be starting to get excited. We're still not quite sure what surprises the first Great Erdrejan Fayre has in store but the LT are promising a range of improvements in all aspects of the game (the new rules and improved bar we've obviously already heard about) and so hopefully we can look forward to a good fun event that will become a regular part of the LRP calendar.
In our last website update before the Fayre we've got a lot of good stuff for you; the final part of our New Players' Guide, a selection of candid interviews with various characters (including one with Michael prior to his death and more recent ones with William and Cal), and - most importantly - brand new scouting reports detailing the current state of each of Albion's five duchies. Many thanks to everyone who's contributed, and also to our plot team who have been writing away furiously behind the scenes.
Anyway, we're all excited about the forthcoming year and looking forward to seeing everyone again after the winter break. We hope you are too and that we'll see you all at the Fayre.

Jugger At The Fayre
Whilst the Great Erdrejan Fayre won't have the games we're used to at the Heartland Games one new attraction is the first Erdrejan International Jugger League. With all factions and guilds competeting it should hopefully be a nice focal point and a chance for people to come together to cheer on their side (or to be disparaging bout those facitons that we're not entirely happy with).
Obviously this sort of event will be more fun the louder and brighter we make it, so our team will be arrayed in brand new white and red hart-rampant tabards (courtesy of Anna) and we hope to have matching pompoms for any supporters who fancy a little cheerleading.
If you'd like to help support the team (and put on a show for the other factions) please do take the opportunity to develop your character's jugger fan credentials (after all, Albion prides itself on good sportsmanship and fair play). Reword some football chants or rugby songs (preferably clean ones - least we fall foul of the "family event" rule); dig out any whistles, football rattles or other suitably noisy implements; bring along some white and red supporters kit or flags to show your alliegence ... or if you're feelng particularly ambitious you can even make yourself a supporter's banner or replica team kit using the template for the team tabards (the hart should be red on a white field).
Anyone who's feeling athletic and who'd like to represent the Harts as part of the actual team should familiarise themselves with the rules and make sure that they're at the Friday night muster - where the command team will have any updates on the tournament.
If you speak to (or are on e-groups with) any other Harts who may not read this please do pass it on. This sort of event is inevitably more fun the more you throw yourself into it, and so hopefully if we're keen enough we can put on a really good show.

New IC Bar For Main Events
Rumour has reached us that the bar at the four main Lorien Trust events will be under new management this year. The new company, Alehouse, is by run by LRPers and re-enactors (co-owner Stu Muir is an old LRP comrade of various Harts) and will apparently be bringing their flagship IC bar - the "Axe & Cleaver" - to Locko Park this year. Alehouse are promising an impressively dressed bar with a good In Character atmosphere, plus a wide variety of British ales, lagers, stouts, porters, ciders, wines, meads and whiskeys from a range of top microbreweries and other independent suppliers. We'll have to wait until the events to see what the end result looks like, but it should be something to look forward to.

New Command Member Announced
It is with pleasure that we can now announce an addition to the faction's command team (the volunteers responsible for liaising between the Lorien Trust and Harts players). Joining Kev and Jason as the third member of the team at the Great Erdrejan Fayre is Anna Clifford-Tait.
For those of you who can't remember real life names, Anna used to play Madelaine Falcon of House Falcon, and as Duchess of York has been a prominent and active member of the faction for some time. We hope she will have a long and successful stint within the Command Team.

RUNE & Rulebooks On Their Way
We've heard today that the new rulebooks and the spring 2007 issue of RUNE will be coming through your letterboxes shortly. At this very moment the LT's staff are sat in the office busy packing, labelling and sealing hundreds of envelopes, in the hope of getting them in the post this weekend. Changes to Faction Command
Further to the previous announcement by Harts Command regarding the command team situation, we feel that a statement further clarifying matters is required.
We were not aware that Allison wished to send a farewell message as non-moderators are unable to post to the Harts-Players Yahoo Group. Out of courtesy, the message is displayed here.
Dear Harts players & Friends
It is with great regret and a heavy heart that due to events of the
last 4 months concluding with events at Aftermath, I am forced to
announce my resignation as Harts 2IC.
I'd be lying if I said it was something I wanted to, but
unfortunately things have been very difficult between myself and the
rest of command.
I should also add that this is nothing to do with commitments outside
LARP. Let us just say that un-reconcilable differences have struck
yet again in the command team.
I'd just like to thank you all for the support you have given the
faction over the past few years. Its been a true honour to have been
part of the best faction in the LT for over 10 years.
Even though the gathering last year was far from easy, I took great
pleasure in taking the field with you all and surviving the cataclysm
Good Luck with the forthcoming year.
Kind Regards
Allison Shailes
We would like to reassure Harts players that the command team still intend to work as hard as they can to make being a member of the faction as fun and rewarding as possible.
Please keep checking our website for further announcements, and we wish you all the very best for the new season.

Post-Heartlands Thanks
Harts Command would like to thank everyone who attended the Heartland Games and helped to make it such a great event fr the faction. Although things were pretty chaotic behind the scenes for this year - we would just like to thank everyone there for making us look like one of the most fun and proactive best factions present. We played the games with honour and dignity - thanks to Andy for all your hard work organising the team - and off the field we got our teeth back.
Thanks for all the support command received and for allowing us to muddle through and glossing over the mistakes we made. Also thanks to our setup team, our security team and our plot team; all of whom worked like hell throughout the weekend. We would also like to thank Jon for all his hard work over the last few years, and we know that he is sad to be going.
Anyway, we're really looking forward to the moots now and hope to see you all there for what's shaping up to be a great year for the faction.

The Tarantulas faction has asked us to pass on news of their forthcoming event; The Forgotten City of Di’Chienza; at Cuffley Scout Camp (just north of London) on 7th-9th April. Feedback from their previous events has been very positive, and they have a nice new plot team hoping to maintain that reputation.
If anyone would be interested in attending (either as a player or crew member) then they'd be very appreciative of the support. You can download a booking form from this site and if you send it in before 20th March you'll save £5 (plus there's a better chance of getting indoor accommodation).

IC Tents At The Faction Moots
If you want to bring an IC tent to the faction
moots please ensure that you contact
Harts Faction Command
by Friday 17th June at the latest
with number of tents required and the dimensions
of each (including space for guy-ropes, etc).
Although only one IC frontage is allowed per
group we will attempt to accomodate additional
IC tents if required ... but to preserve space
they will have to be positioned behind the first.
Please include details of all IC tents you intend
to bring.
As discussed at the faction
meeting, if details of IC tents are not submitted
in advance no space will be allocated for them
and you will have to cope without IC camping for
the moots.
Unfortunately command do have to be strict about
this since the faction has a particularly large
number of IC tents, and for the moots there is
the added complexity of liaising with the Bears
faction (with whom we'll be sharing a camp).
Since this is a reasonably important organisational
issue please mention it to those Harts players
without internet access if you get the opportunity.

of the queen it was a hard task, and has taken
about three years of draughts and re-draughts
to get a situation that we were are all happy
with.
Emma has been a rock of the faction as the queen
not only as faction 1IC, but also willing to help
out both IC as the queen when needed and OOC with
the benefit of her experience and amazing knowlege
of the faction.
We would also like to thank "her boys"
who were always willing to turn up to support
her, and often did a lot of standing around with
very little benefit to themelves.

Change In Command Structure
Having only had an incomplete command group
for a few months now we're pleased to announce
that the faction now has a full command team again.
Dave Young moves from 4IC to fill the previously
vacant 3IC role (faction referee) and the new
4IC (head of plot) will be Jeff Baker Snr (IC:
Holger Danske of the Three Penny Bridges Company
(TPB)). Jeff was heavily involved in the recent
Queen & Country event, has
been running LRP-events for many years, and it's
felt has a lot to offer the faction ... so we
hope everyone will make him feel welcome.
Neither Dave nor Jeff's characters (Michael O'Donovan
and Holger Danske) will be immediately affected
by these change and any promotions will be dealt
with purely In Character.
